Die Lichtinstallation setzt sich kritisch mit dem Begriff des Parasiten auseinander und richtet den Fokus auf die Instrumentalisierung der Metapher sowie auf ihren Evolutions- und Revolutionsimpuls im Kontext des Prometheus-Mythos. Sie lädt Besucher*innen dazu ein, die Identität des Parasiten sowohl räumlich als auch über die begleitende Thesis zu erforschen. Die einzelnen Projektionen fungieren dabei symbolisch als Wirte und erzählen jeweils einen Teil der Geschichte. Durch Perspektivwechsel werden grafische Artefakte und Texte sichtbar. Beim Durchschreiten der Projektionen entstehen gezielte Störmomente, in denen die Besuchenden selbst Teil der Arbeit werden.

An Archaeology of the Parasite
The light installation critically engages with the concept of the parasite, focusing on the instrumentalisation of the metaphor and its evolutionary and revolutionary impulse in relation to the Prometheus myth. It invites visitors to explore the identity of the parasite both spatially and through the accompanying thesis. The individual projections symbolically function as hosts, each narrating a part of the history. Shifts in perspective reveal graphic artefacts and texts. As visitors move through the projections, deliberate moments of disruption arise, drawing them into the work as active participants.
