Proverb. Speak, word! That’s an order! The word shall speak, forming something out of itself. A command—and suddenly you know how the game works. Inspired by the French group Oulipo, the Workshop for Potential Literature, this project explores how formal constraints can generate new spaces of meaning and forms of design expression—here in the form of Ougrapo, the Workshop for Potential Design. Ten German proverbs are linguistically and typographically transformed through twenty-two formal constraints.
